My story
I grew up in San Pedro Garza García, a suburb of Monterrey in northern Mexico. I was influenced early on by European literature and American culture. When I was 17, I moved to Mexico City, and that's when I really discovered my Mexican background.
After completing my Master's degree at UNAM, I moved to Berlin, where I earned a Ph.D. in Ancient Philosophy. When I decided not to pursue a career in academia, I became more active in journalism, first at the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung, and later as editor-in-chief of Letras Libres.
I love conceiving, creating, producing and editing content. Writing and editing are my thing! I do as much research as possible before I start. I deliver my texts only when I am completely satisfied with the story and have met my client's needs.
I am a member of Ametli, the Mexican Association of Literary Translators.
I am a member of the Brüder Grimm Gesellschaft, the Association of the Brothers Grimm in Kassel.
