¡Hola, Alemania!

I am the author of ¡Hola, Alemania!, a #1 bestseller book on Amazon Deutschland and Amazon México. How cool is that for a first book?!

¡Hola, Alemania! is a hybrid book that aims to help Mexicans and Latin Americans who live or want to live in Germany. If Germany is the place for you, for whatever reason, this is your starting point.

In my book you will find all the basic information you need to make your life easier and more enjoyable. Need to understand the crazy tax system? Want to know some mobility hacks? Or maybe you just want to get the big picture on how the German system, i.e. the German life, works? ¡Hola, Alemania! has your back!

Readers who have been in Germany for decades all agree that the book has given them helpful insights and interesting stories.

It’s available in Europe, Mexico and the Americas through your favorite bookstores and Amazon.

Ghostwriter

Over the years, I have ghostwritten several books. In such cases, sometimes you get credit on the cover, sometimes on the legal page (the first page on the left with small fonts that nobody reads), and more often than not, your name does not appear at all and you cannot disclose your clients.

As a ghostwriter, I like to coach and teach my clients to develop the skills they need to write their own books in the future – if that is what you want. So, investing in my services means that not only will you get your book done, but you'll also learn how to write your own future projects.

As an entrepreneur myself and an avid reader of business books, I am particularly interested in this area.

Journalist

As a journalist, I have contributed stories about art, culture, literature and lifestyle to international media. My stories have been recognized by my editors and audiences, making it to the front pages and covers. From high-profile journalism such as Die Zeit to designboom, I strive to provide fresh insights into curious, engaging stories with a cultural twist. My aim is not only to inform, but to enlighten my readers.

Since I have been writing professionally since 2000, this is only a small selection. I am particularly fond of the artists I have interviewed, from Yoko Ono to National Geographic photographer Steve McCurry.

I have also worked pro bono with Cultura Colectiva, the Mexican digital platform that publishes digital content for both Spanish and English speakers, and is one of the most popular Spanish platforms in the world, with more than 23 million readers in both languages.

As I am fluent in German, I started my journalist path in Germany. First, I worked for the travel department of the Frankfurter Allgemeine Sonntagszeitung, one of the most important newspapers in Germany, founded in 1949. I am grateful to my editor for letting me be the first non-native speaker to work in-house and travel the world in search of stories. This is where I first learned the intricacies of how a print publication works.

Later, I took my know-how to Germany's renowned DIE ZEIT, a weekly newspaper for which I became a correspondent for the 2010 World Cup in South Africa, and to Weltkunst, the oldest German-language art magazine.

Philosopher

I trained for many years to become a professional philosopher. I started my studies in Mexico City and concluded them in Berlin. I do have a passion for philosophy, but I dislike the specialization spirit that the academic world has fallen into, while sacrificing its original soul––to be wisdom, and therefore, Jack of all trades).

After teaching in two private colleges in Mexico City, I turned to writing. In 2024, I came back to teaching Philosophy at a high school in Germany.

Philosophy of Jorge Luis Borges

Being the nerd that I am, one of the first books to have my name on the cover was an academic article on philosophy.

I'm particularly fond of "El Dios del silogismo", an essay on Borges' Argumentum ornithologicum. The conference took place in 2001, and it was a turning point, as it opened my eyes to a new life in Berlin, my city of choice since then.

Since everything takes time in Germany, the book came out a few years later. You can find my article in Alfonso de Toro (ed.), Jorge Luis Borges: Ciencia y Filosofía, Georg Olms Verlag, Hildesheim, 2007, pp. 147-160.

The Reception of Aristoteles’ Metaphysics 𝝠 (Book Lambda)

I received my Ph.D. in Ancient Philosophy after publishing my dissertation on the reception of Aristotle's most important text, the 12th book of his Metaphysics, better known as 𝝠. My dissertation was supervised by a professor of philosophy at the University of Chicago. My work was first supervised by Christof Rapp and later by Christoph Helmig.

Here I propose that Aristotle builds up his substance doctrine in this text.

My dissertation is available to anyone.
